Archives Training for the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club

In early 2024 we delivered our in-person, bespoke archives training course to staff at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club (RSYC). We have been helping the RSYC organise and catalogue their incredible collection of treasures - and staff training plays a vital role in this process of archives creation.

The course covers seven modules and is based on our archival policies. It includes: an introduction to archives, the basics of acquisition (how to acquire records within a business and the role of collection development strategies), an introduction to appraisal theory, how to arrange and describe historic records, the importance of archival access and legislation that governs this task, as well as digital record keeping.
