Ka Wai Chan

Archivist

Ka Wai Chan is a professionally trained archivist with a Master of Archives and Records Management from the University of Liverpool. She specialises in performing arts archives and bilingual (Chinese and English) editorial work, combining heritage insight with accessible public-facing communication.

Her experience spans marketing copywriting, audience engagement, and archive development—with a particular focus on connecting institutional memory to wider storytelling goals. As Archive Project Advisor to the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, she oversaw the transformation of hundreds of unsorted boxes into a functioning archive service, designing its physical premises and implementing a cataloguing system. She also served as editor of HK Phil 50+, the Orchestra’s 50th anniversary publication.

Ka Wai is a strong advocate for the active use of archival materials in audience-building and continues to work across sectors to bring cultural memory to life through both digital and editorial means. She has been supporting History Ink since 2024.
