Digital Preservation Coalition seminar - HK, SG and China case studies

The Digital Preservation Coalition experience sharing session for Chinese speakers was held on 3 September 2026

Yesterday we attended a seminar organised by the Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC), highlighting organisations in Singapore, Hong Kong and Mainland China who have used DPC’s Rapid Assessment Model (RAM) to tackle digital preservation. DPC RAM is a digital preservation maturity modelling tool designed to enable rapid benchmarking of an organisation’s digital preservation capability, and facilitate continuous improvement over time.

It was great to hear from speakers including representatives from the Chinese University of Hong Kong Archives - an archive established around 10 years ago; China’s National Digitial Preservation Program managed through the National Science and Technology Library; and the Heritage Conservation Centre in Singapore. They all shared valuable insights from their learning journeys with RAM.

DPC’s RAM model is free to use and download. The current version (DPC RAM Model 3) can be accessed here.
